Team Vitality, the well-known French eSports organisation has entered into a three-year partnership with Tezos, to boost its fan engagement initiatives.

The French eSports organization Team Vitality and blockchain network Tezos (XTZ) have unveiled a landmark three-year deal that will reportedly help both the entities significantly in the times ahead. The partnership, which is being touted as one of the biggest in European eSports history, aims to revolutionise Team Vitality fan experience, while offering Tezos plenty of brand visibility in the eSports domain.

The announcement was made public via a press release this Thursday. Talking about the development, Nicolas Maurer, CEO, Team Vitality, said, “This is truly a game changing partnership for Vitality, which feels appropriate given 2022 is set to be the biggest year in our history. The opportunities Tezos can bring to strengthen the relationship between us and our fans is incredibly exciting, and we’re immensely proud to have Tezos join us on this journey.”

Mason Edwards, the Tezos Foundation’s Chief of Staff sounded optimistic about the development too, stating, “This is a significant step forward for Europe’s leading esports team as the blockchain and gaming industries continue to build a fan and player-centric future for esports.”

“The decision from Team Vitality to choose the energy-efficient Tezos blockchain as a technical partner is another signal to the established and growing gaming vertical that low gas fees, forkless upgradability, and ease-of-use are the key factors driving the next wave of adoption for blockchain technologies. I’m thrilled to see Team Vitality join the Tezos community,” he further said.

A mutually beneficial collaboration

The partnership will not only enable Team Vitality fans to interact with their favourite players and teams in more innovative ways, and gain unlimited access to them, but also earn handsome rewards for their loyalty.

Apart from bridging the gap between fans and teams/players, Team Vitality aims to educate supporters about the benefits of blockchain tech in the gaming sector. Gaming and eSports fans being amongst the most engaged and tech-savvy communities, there lies a huge opportunity for Tezos in this space.

This joint venture is Tezos’ first major tie-up in the eSports and gaming industry, and a part of its ongoing efforts to popularise its technology in this ecosystem. The network sees a significant potential here also considering how P2E (Play-to-Earn) games are becoming all the rage these days.

As a part of the deal, Team Vitality players like Perkz, Carzzy, Dupreeh, Magisk and others will sport the Tezos logo on their team jerseys. Resultantly, the blockchain will gain visibility across Vitality’s entire eSports roster, which includes Rocket League, CS:GO and League of Legends.

Although Tezos has dabbled in eSports before, it has never got engaged in the sector to this level. The network prides itself in being the most energy-efficient and advanced blockchain in the world. It has been advocating an environment-friendly approach towards blockchain tech and has even partnered with Grammys and Formula One racing teams in the past, to raise awareness in this regard.
